Language

I had been asked by a few of you for some Samoan Words… I haven’t been skirting the issue, I just have been busy with other things, so here are some words:

Talofa = Hello

Afio Mai = Welcome

Lalelei = Beautiful

Tane = Men

Fahne = Woman

Fa’afetai = Thank You

Matai = Cheif

I’m no linguist, but most words are read in groups of 2, but not always.

So for thank you it’s Fa-Ah-Fay-Tie where the “‘a” is together and “tai” is counted as one syllable.

    Talofa Toetasi! You won’t forget to bring me my island boy, Toetasi, right? I can’t think of anything I want for Christmas so a tall, dark, handsome and “young” scantily-clad man will have to do! 🙂
