All HOPE is not lost… yesterday I found A New Hope…”Help Me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you are my only hope.”
I found this through the Harpeth Hills Flying Monkey Marathon Forum, we I had finally come to accept that I wouldn’t be running in the Flying Monkey Marathon. Shortly after my post, I had a reply from the Race Director.
Monkey Trent: You want to be put on the waiting list?
Me: HELL YEAH!
So there may be a Flying Monkey’s chance that I WILL be able to run on November 22nd. The Question is… WHEN will I know if I get called to service? Ooooo, I love a good mystery. I better start getting that training program together and ACTUALLY start running again.

So – the question is – to run with the ROCKETS or not?
The best that you can hope for is to be passed over on the waiting list…that may actually reduce your suffering in November…
start training now Jedi Knight – you need to be ready when called.
I had thought about doing the Flying Monkey myself. I finally sat down this last weekend and noodled out a marathon plan for the fall/winter. I was even at the point of sending you an email to see if you were running this one. But, as it all turned out, I found one on Saturday after Thanksgiving that is less than 2 hours from where I will be thanksgiving-ing that I am going to run. Timing and location are perfect. It is a much smaller race. Only about 100 did the full marathon last year. It is the Mississippi Coast Marathon http://www.marathonguide.com/races/racedetails.cfm?MIDD=1505091128
I am pretty excited about having a training plan. I am doing the same plan I did last year, but this time I have a goal time to beat. I also have plenty of days scheduled in for cross training. I am not quite at the same physical conditioning I was in last year. I really need to work on my basic physical fitness. Those cross training days are going to be scheduled with specific workouts just like my running days.
I am going to get my mo-jo back!
