Kool Aid Man says "Au, Yeahhhh"

I can not believe that I forgot to mention this… our Au Pair (Cristiane) was granted her visa at her second interview last Wednesday!! While back in the ER, I got word that she got her visa. And there was much rejoicing!

However… of course, there is that “however”… we won’t get her when we were hoping. Because the Embassy was closed for 2 days for Easter (Thursday and Friday) she would not get her visa in the mail in time to make the April 16th entry into the U.S. So, we have to wait for her to arrive on May 7th, which means that she comes to Knoxville that Thursday.

Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers…

Congrats Terry and family. You will have to give her a blog so she can tell us what the real Terry is like. We only get to see what you want to share (which is way too much sometimes), but with a third party reporting on the “goings on” then we can have the real scoop.

Of course, it will help if we can read Portuguese.

Too much? A sore butt is too much? Graphic descriptions (sometimes with pictures) of catastrophes that I get myself into is too much… it’s great stuff!

Perhaps she already has a blog somewhere… blogging about the crazy family she’s going to stay with for a year! Who knows… and as for Portugues… there’s always the almighty babelfish (altavista.com)

The cool thing about Portuguese is that even though it does not sound anything like Spanish, it looks very similar. So I can read it and have a pretty good understanding. When I first heard it spoken I did not believe it was Portuguese because it does not even sound familiar.
