Ugh, I just got done writing emails to the American Samoan Government about the survey that we are going to be doing in November. The first email is fun being all cordial and official, but then on the third, it’s more like “Yo Dude! You want me to shout out at the paper dud or what?” More on American Samoa in a future blog entry.

Let’s get running!

Something is up with my watch. I think that I missed a split time OR I didn’t get the split right. See… I ran this route: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=512980 and if you go with the math it says that I did an average 7:48 mile. Now, that’s believable… I have been getting faster. However, with the splits I captured, the “math” says that I did the last two miles in 7:15.

THAT is a buchn of hogwash. There is NO way that I did the last two miles in 7:15 and that’s not the pace I was running… I would have been dead at the end. I don’t think my time is right. Oh well, I got the distance and a new add-on mile to my Market Square Fab 4 miler. I think that I have to name this one [not sure yet, but the train tracks needs to be part]

I almost got squiahed today, crossing the road. A car was running under coverage with a parked car and I when I passed, I was 6-10 feet away and I kicked in the after burner… and to freedom. No honks or yelling (that I heard).

And I almost witnessed an accident. I was standing at a corner to cross once the traffic was gone and a lost soul almost turned in front of another car. This time the driver honked the horna nd if I could read lips, probably said a few choice words to the driver. I could have been the hero though, since I was right there… I could have whipped out my red cape and ran two blocks to get the patrolmen hanging out chatting with some hot babes at Market Square.

Remember way back when, when it wasn’t unusual for me to post that I forgotten some article of clothing that was particularly significant? Well, this was a missing Clothes Encounter of the Sock Kind. I’m in a frenzy chaning clothes to get out an run the 5 miles. I reach in my bag for some socks and none are to be found. Uh-Oh… I dig around and Voila a sock! so I dig some more… HEY! another sock, but it doesn’t match the first one… So i dig some more and HEY! another sock, but it doesn’t match either sock. so I dig some more… no more socks. So I have 3 socks… all of which are different. And all I am thinking is “Thank Goodness have at least two.” So I toss on two socks and head out the door… problem solved. MacGyvering needed: None.

I guess two different socks is better than two different shoes 🙂

Very true! I’d just run around in circles

That was fun looking at your route. I recognized some of that route. I have been lost down in that area where you hit miles 2 and 3. Funny, I even remember what I was looking for. I needed an ATM so checked on Bank Of America’s website and it told me there was one down near that area. That has been 3 years or so ago.

You remind me that I have not checked my mileage yet for my run this morning. I have not been mentally ready to return to the streets after the Phedippidations run until today. Though I have run, I have not wanted to. Today I just took off and told my wife I would be home in 30 minutes or 2 hours, or somewhere in between. I did a 43 minute run but no specific route, so I am not sure my distance.

LOL ~ Leesa’s one to talk about 2 different shoes!

Hey, will you wear tights along with the cape?! LOL ~ I’m just sayin’!

You might want to be good buds with John John ~ maybe he’ll send you socks.

    😛

There is a bunch of construction going on with Gay St. and all that area. They are also working on putting Lofts downtown…

SO…methinks you should put an emergency stash of needed *read ‘essential’* items in order to run. Sneaks, socks, shorts, undies…please, watch. Just in the off chance you forget something on a ‘regular’ day. I’m sure that this has occured to you but that you have a logical reason for not doing it.

I liked your face fuzz. It just needed a trim, Ter.
But then again…I am partial to face fuz.
Have I ever told you that you have the most soulful eyes I’ve seen on a man? Soulful, but with a hint of mischevious sparkle???

    S’all good Jen, I’m just sayin’ s’all. ;0]

I do have emergency socks in a filing cabinet at work… apparently, I need to get that restocked, much less my bag.

Soulful? Huh… that’s a new one for me… mischievous, yes, that I can believe.

What’s up with you and watches and lack of clothes? And why is it not possible that you ran 7:18? The cooler weather helps the speed a bunch, go with it.

What’s the derivation of the word “squiahed”? I get the context but man…oops never mind now I see it on its own “squished.” I thought you were going all TN statistician quasi rapper on us or something. Be careful out there. Do you ever try to cross the river and get out of town for a run? Just wondering since I checked out the gmaps.

BTW, here’s another code off a 20oz. Diet

It’s not TOTALLY impossible for me to run a 7:18, but for 2 miles, that is really approaching a 5k pace and I really didn’t feel that I had ran that pace. Plus there were times, were I had to slow down or stop because of perdestrians/traffic

As for out of town. Sometimes I run in Alcoa/Maryville on their Greenway. Usually, it’s out of town races for the most part. I want to run trails in the National Park, but some of those trails are a little up and down!

    Thanks for the code!
