[From Richmond Times Dispatch]
Everyone called her Betty. I can’t remember not knowing her or her husband Bernand (err, Mr. Moran). They lived in Petersburg near some other family friends and I can remember vaguely being in her house and playing some games in her den. The exciting thing that ever happened was when I was in first grade, I was climbing a tree in her yard and I do remember being in that tree, but the story is told to me something like this:
[Terry Climbing in the Tree]
Pete: Terry get out of the tree
Bernand: It’s OKay, Michael cut out all the dead limbs today-[CRACK Sound]
[Terry falls out of tree and is unconscious on the ground]
I ended up being in the hospital for just a little while and I missed the last few days of first grade… but Betty always felt bad about that… concussion=missed school. Ahh, those were probably brain cells that I would have killed off with beer later in life anyway!
Betty had been pretty sick for a while and from what Pete said that she almost died a year ago. So, one of God’s Angels has returned… Please pray for her family as they grieve her loss…
