Rejoice! We have Won!

From Wikipedia:

The traditional story relates that Pheidippides, an Athenian herald, ran the 42 km (26 miles) from the battlefield by the town of Marathon to AthensPersia in the Battle of Marathon (490 BC) with the word “???????????!” (Nenikékamen, We were victorious!) and died on the spot. Most accounts incorrectly attribute this story to the historian Herodotus, who wrote the history of the Persian Wars in his Histories (composed about 440 BC).

Fast-forward 2496 years (March 26th to be exact) and you have non-Greek Terry running the Knoxville Marathon. Although I did not proclaim any type a victory, the act of crossing the marahton finishing line is a victory all of its own. Earlier this week, I finally received the “diploma” for the Knoxville Marathon, it’s really called the ‘Finisher’s Certificate’ and it actually does hold some clout. If you want to prove that you did indeed qualify for the Boston Marathon, a copy of the finisher’s certificate would suffice as proper evidence.

So 4.25 months later, it finally shows up in the mail. I’m not sure how this will play out in the future, but for every time I run a new marathon, I take the finisher’s certificate, finisher’s medal and running bib and create a shadow box display. For Knoxville, this is what I did:

Knoxville Marathon

and then I put it up with the others:
