I listened to a podcast interview by amputee endurance athlete turned quadripolegic motivational speaker/coach. His name is Jim MacLaren and he holds world records for fastest times by an amputee (lost part of one leg) for biking and swimming at all levels of triathlons… even Ironman. Yes… full blown Ironman. The 2.4 mile swim followed by a 112 mile bike and THEN a marathon (26.2 miles).

Seriously, this guy is an inspiration and maybe not an inspiration for you to go out and do a triathlon or 5k (3.1 mile) race, but he does inspire you about life. One thing that he said that clicked with me is that every morning he wakes up and engages life. He doesn't just get up and go through the motions, even though his morning routine takes 3 hours. He gets up and is engaged with what he is doing, who he is communicating with, he is engaged with his life.

So, I chose to engage my life.
